vintage 'tips & tricks'
there are so many ways to either update something, or even change it
maybe by adding recent purchases from the high street like a statement necklace, a belt etc.
or changing the buttons for some exciting vintage or new ones on an old coat or jacket
vintage never goes out of fashion but remember ...
ideally you should work out which looks suit you - Twenties clothes are straight cut and are perfect for girls with small or no bust; Fifties are nipped-in at the waist and flare out which is perfect for curvier girls; Sixties are short shifts - ideal for those lucky leggy girls!
- avoid buying anything with an obvious stain, if you really can notice it, then that is probably the reason it's been discarded.
- always always try on - bare in mind woman's body shapes and sizes have changed a lot in the last 50 years.
- at a vintage fair you can haggle a bit, but do be reasonable!
- there is no point in buying just for the label, if it doesn't fit or cannot be altered put your wallet away and hold out for something that's even better.
