You've most probably read it many times before, but here it is again - the key to healthy, beautiful skin is simple - everyday, remember to drink at least 2 litres of water, eat your quota of 5 fruit and vegetables and remember to exfoliate, which buffs away dry, dead skin cells to uncover your natural healthy glow ...

The gentle Rejuvenating DIY Beauty Treatment
For allover smooth radiant skin …..
Just like the heart, kidneys and lungs, the skin is a vital organ. Yet unlike our interior organs, the skin can be rejuvenated by using a variety of therapeutic techniques such as body brushing.
Brush
The process of body brushing has been practiced for thousands of years. Our predecessors developed ways of using natural substances to revitalize their skin. The Japanese skin brushed vigorously with loofah sponges as a prelude to their traditional hot bath. Ancient Greek athletes used specialised, spoon-like skin scrapers to remove grime and mire and to encourage circulation prior to bathing. Cherokee Indians made use of dried corn cobs for exfoliation to enhance the skin's beauty and durability. Similarly, Comanche Indians used sand from the Texas river bottoms to exfoliate and remove dead skin. Clearly, past generations have recognised the importance of healthy skin, so now we must too.
How to body brush in under 5 minutes:
1. Before a shower or bath using a body brush on dry skin, gently sweep for about 3 minutes from the soles of your feet and hands and gradually work up the body towards the heart. For best results, sweep using a downward motion for the area above your heart and upwards for the area below.
2. Once you have done this, hop in the shower or bath with your favourite body wash.
3. When towel dried, lightly moisturise your warm skin. This finishing touch makes you feel like you've just emerged from a luxuriously expensive spa treatment, without feeling guilty for breaking the bank!
Why Body Brush?
If you don't do anything else for your body - at all - do body brush. As one of the most effective ways of fighting cellulite, body brushing can be adapted to your daily routine, offering both physical and mental advantages all year round, because it stimulates lymphatic flow and encourages the elimination of toxins, helping you to feel prepared to face the day ahead.
Working on your body's wellbeing has a significant impact on the way you feel about yourself. This simple and bargain budget beauty process can instantly lift your spirits, helping you to feel prepared to face the day ahead. Whether it's a dull dreary morning, too miserable to get out of bed or if you're just not feeling your perky self, body brushing can be an instant boost all year round.
Whatever the season, whether you wish to maintain that healthy post holiday glow or feel your skin's in need of a rejuvenation before you brave it in the tiny little black dress before a party, body brushing is an ideal, cost effective and truly rewarding beauty treatment...you can forget the stress of booking a last minute spa appointment, by purchasing a body brush you can bring the spa to your home.

Scrub
Why Body Scrub?
It's important to exfoliate your skin at least once a week using a body scrub as part of your body brushing routine. As well as making your skin feel softer, because it buffs off dead, flaky bits of skin, regular exfoliation also increases the rate in which skin cell renew themselves, and one theory is that it can delay premature ageing, as it strengthens cellular activity. However it is important not to over-exfoliate your skin. Do not apply an exfoliator to skin that is irritated or trying to heal, or on dry areas where there is eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis. Similarly, do not exfoliate if your chosen moisturiser contains chemical exfoliants such as alpha or beta hydroxy acids (AHAs and BHAs) - nobody's skin needs that much exfoliation! Also, do not exfoliate as part of your body brushing routine immediately before or after you have used a depilatory or hair removal product.
